what I’m reading:
Hannah Tennant Moore
I still can't really tell you how I feel about this book. It's sort of horrible, but there's a part of it that's amazing because it's this deep dive that breaks open the true nature of a deeply unlikeable person. But it also made me think that maybe we would all be this unlikeable if our deepest, darkest, and most disgusting thoughts were exposed in this way. It's not really like any book I've ever read before.
Did it make me cry: No.
Did it make me laugh: No.
Did it make me miss a subway stop: No.
Would I recommend it: No. I would not want anybody to feel as disturbed as I felt by this book. Have you read this book? I’d like to know on a scale from 1 to Requiem for a Dream how much this book disturbed you.
Would I read it again: No.
Would it be a good movie: There is no way anybody should ever make this into a movie.
Sarah Waters
Ok, I’m just going to tell you right off the bat that this book starts out boring. It takes 150 pages for anything to happen, and it takes 300 pages to get exciting. But once you’re in, it’s worth it.
Did it make me cry: No.
Did it make me laugh: No.
Did it make me miss a subway stop: No, but it’s hard to put down.
Would I recommend it: I really don’t know if you have the patience to read this book, but if you can make it to page 300, I promise you’ll really want to find out what happens.
Would I read it again: No.
Would it be a good movie: This would be a way better movie than a book. Why hasn’t this happened yet?
