i'm back.....
Hello!
I’m back! I was gone for Thanksgiving and before that I was at the world’s most beautiful airbnb in Merida, Mexico.
this week’s style icon:
This lady wearing a shirt made out of bees
what I’m wanderlusting:
This outdoor bathtub at UXUA in Brazil
what I’m clicking:
Angela Dimayuga is probably the hippest chef in the world | Some excellent NYT wedding coverage | The braid sculptor
Also, The New York Times published their list of 100 notable books of 2017
Some of the books on this list that I read and liked:
And one I would not recommend - Lincoln in the Bardo
And a few that are on my bedside table waiting to be read:
And a few I need to buy:
what I’m watching:
Season 2 of Stranger Things came out while I was in South Africa and I was SO excited to watch it. It was excellent. Way too scary to watch alone, and definitely not as good as season 1, but excellent.
For some reason I also watched the entire season of The Deuce, hoping it would at some point get good. It didn’t. Don’t watch this show - not even the gritty/glam setting of 1970s Times Square can make this show even halfway decent.
what I’m reading:
John Green
This is definitely not my favorite John Green book (or second favorite, or third favorite, or even fourth favorite). But! It’s great. Read this book at least so you can relate to the anxious people in your life.
Did it make me cry: Duh.
Did it make me laugh: Yes.
Did it make me miss a subway stop: No, but it’s one of those books you can’t stop reading. It’s like ice cream.
Would I recommend it: Only if you have already read and loved other John Green books. If you haven’t, start with Paper Towns or Looking for Alaska.
Would I read it again: No.
Would it be a good movie: Sure.
