this week’s style inspo:

what I’m clicking:
No one is coming to save us | Police erupt in violence nationwide | When destroying a police precinct is a reasonable reaction | George Floyd is more important than a looted Target store | The police killing you probably didn’t hear about this week | Abolish the police | The unbearable grief of black mothers | Living abroad is my way of prolonging my black son’s life | Millions of Amy Coopers | The exceptionalism of “Fellow White Women:” | How to support the struggle against police brutality
what I’m reading:
There are so man anti-racist reading lists out there right now and that’s a great place to start. Here’s one from the New York Times, one from Buzzfeed, and one from Elle. If you’re overwhelmed and just don’t know where to start, So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo is a really accessible and manageable guide for beginners. One book that I see left off of a lot of these lists (maybe because it’s a novel, maybe because it’s YA) is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, which is beautiful, heartbreaking, eye-opening, and easy to read.
where I’m donating:
The Minnesota Freedom Fund (they have since said they’re overwhelmed with donations and are directing people to send money to Black Visions Collective and Reclaim the Block) and the Brooklyn Community Bail Fund. To find a bail fund in your city, check out this twitter thread or this google doc.
